Catalysts for Change

Youth Pickleball Outreach is a San Diego-based nonprofit committed to enhancing youth physical literacy. By introducing pickleball into local schools, we aim to ensure that every student experiences the joy and community this sport offers.


We believe that physical literacy — the ability to move with confidence, competence, and joy — is a foundational life skill. And we believe pickleball with its low barrier to entry, fast learning curve, and deeply social nature, is one of the best tools available to build it. 


Our goal is simple and ambitious at once: every student in San Diego should have the opportunity to experience the joy, health benefits, and community that pickleball makes possible. We are building the programs, partnerships, and presence to make that happen.

Why Pickleball. Why Now.

Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in America for a reason. It is approachable, social, and genuinely fun — for a first-time seven-year-old and a seasoned adult alike. The learning curve is gentle enough that students experience early success, and that early success builds the confidence to keep moving, keep trying, and keep showing up.

For young people who have struggled to find their place in traditional sports, pickleball is often a revelation. For students already active, it adds a new dimension of skill and community. For every student in between, it is simply a great time — and a great time that happens to be building their health, coordination, and social connection simultaneously.

That is a rare combination. And it is exactly why we have built our mission around it.
